Orientation of Interests and Life Purpose
Peoples’ interests are generally oriented toward: Things, Experiences, People, and Ideas.
It’s a common saying, something to the extent that “No one on their deathbed ever said, ‘I wish I spent more time at work.’”
For the inventor, it might be possible to disagree. For a philosopher, is their philosophy their work? For an artist, is their art their work? For a writer, is their writing their work? For a doctor, is their task of healing their work? For an activist, is creating change their work?
For someone who is living deeply in their purpose, be it an inventor or philosopher or artist or writer or doctor or activist, when their final day came, have they ever said “I’ve invented/thought through/painted/written/healed/produced change in everything I think I need to. I’m done.”?
